Next time you open an email in your Gmail account, pay attention to the sidebar with Google ads.

Now open a different email. Another. Another. Thirteen more, keeping an eye on the side bar each time.

Eyeball monitization. Tailored messages. Google's algorithm for making you buy shit.

Beautiful engineering. Scary thought.
